At the core of his practice is a patient centred approach. After his rugby days, Dr. Emmett trained in medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. This included training in general surgery and neurosurgery during the medical internship. Dr. Emmett also completed specialist training in general practice on the Trinity GP specialist training scheme. Dr. Emmett also trained with the top American urologist Dr. Doug Stein specialising in the no needle, no scalpel vasectomy technique. To date, Dr. Byrne has completed thousands of successful vasectomies in Ireland and is on the specialist register of the Irish Medical Council.
